The first international team event for this and many years previous not run by the International Table Soccer Federation was a departure from the norm in many ways. The Lehmacher table, all but non-existent in the UK, was an entirely new experience for everyone with the exception of our well-traveled captain Rob Atha, as was receiving prize money in a Nations Cup tournament.
A total of five men and one woman made the trip, sadly falling a couple short of a full contingent and having to play at a disadvantage in every match. The team played three group games and unfortunately failed to progress beyond the group stage, but put in a strong showing considering the swift exposure to a host of new rules and foosball playing techniques, and were ultimately only one more win against Luxembourg away from progression.
Group Stage
- GB 2 - 3 Netherlands
- GB 2 - 3 Luxembourg
- GB 1 - 4 Italy
