Biography:

When Joe silently took a top 5 finish in his first rookie singles event at the Warwick Open 2005 tournament, no one could have predicted how fast he would take the UK foosball scene by storm. Just 2 tournaments later he had won his first rookie title, and began shooting up the ranking list. Playing as a forward in his early career, Joe made his major break through in May 2006 placing 2nd in Open doubles (with Mike Amsden) at the biggest tournament of the year. This result coming only a year after his first ever tournament. Joe put his quick improvement and instant success down to a mixture of natural talent, hard work, and surrounding himself with a strong group of Bristol players. Joe and Mike Amsden would regularly compete on thursday nights in local competition, then travel to London on friday nights to test their skills against other strong tournament players. Joe's potential was recognised and was selected to represent the UK at the first ever foosball world cup in Hamburg, 2006. Although mainly being used as a reserve player, Joe took everything he could from the experience. He continued to travel internationally for the remainder of 2006 competing at the Eurosoccer world championships (Belgium), and the Kentucky state championships (USA). By the beginning of 2007, Joe had established himself as a top 10 player in the UK, and had been promoted from beginner to pro master ranking in less than 2 years. He didn't rest on his laurels and continued to fine tune his skills home and abroad competing in some of the biggest tournaments worldwide. Joe won 3 titles (2 singles, 1 doubles) in a major tournament in Kentucky, before travelling also to Vienna (Garlando world championships), and Las Vegas (Tornado world championships) respectively. 2008 was another break through year for Joe, winning his first of many open singles and open doubles titles on the UK tournament circuit. It was in 2008 that Joe also began to form a doubles partnership with Rob Atha. This is where Joe first began to master the goalie position in doubles. Partnering Rob Atha at the Garlando world championships in Vienna, Joe placed 2nd in the open doubles event in a huge field with a lot of the worlds best players in attendance. This is where Joe first put his mark on the international scene. Building on this success he competed at the tornado world championships in Las Vegas and produced a string of solid results.
